Installation of all technological facilities is always associated with the ability to work with expensive equipment and therefore it is so important to choose a reliable and experienced contractor. Installation of the equipment itself is the final cycle of the equipment delivery process and at this stage, as a rule, the client has the highest expectations, i.e. it is easy and timely to put the facility into operation. Installation of conveyor equipment is a natural extension of the traditional UMM product - the installation of lifting equipment, as in ports, as well as in many other enterprises from various industries, all kinds of conveyor equipment are used. For metallurgy, these are lines for the transportation of coal, ore, slag, etc., for the agricultural and food sectors - the transportation of grain cargoes, etc. for other industries. Conveyor equipment includes transshipment mechanisms and machines in general, which are based on the use of different types of conveyors and their combinations. Machines include skid steer loaders, forklift trucks, wagon loaders, reclaimers, and stackers. Conveyors are of the following types: belt, plate, cradle, bucket, scraper, screw.
Installation of lifting equipment is a traditional UMM product. Accumulating experience in complex and voluminous installations of port equipment, UMM company increasingly received orders for the installation of metallurgical cranes, cranes for energy, chemical industry, etc. Today UMM offers the following types of lifting equipment: gantry cranes and floating cranes for ports and shipyards, container cranes such as STS, RTG, RMG, bridge cranes (beam cranes), gantry cranes and jib cranes for general and special purposes, as well as non-standard lifting equipment such as loaders.
Installation of industrial facilities is a relatively new product of UMM, however, for the company, such works have taken a significant place among the services offered. Under the installation of industrial facilities, the installation of terminals for transshipment of various types of cargoes, production complexes equipped with various machines, units, and devices for the production or processing of goods, as well as energy facilities such as wind parks for electricity generation.

In many cases, applications for the installation of certain objects come in a generalized form, respectively, the first thing that makes the expert on installation collects specific information about the object. In some cases, to form an approximate cost of installation, it is enough to get a completed survey, photos (video), instructions of the manufacturer. But to provide a contractual price, specialists need to go to the facility, conduct a visual inspection of installation conditions, study the installation site or its technical documentation, determine what lifting mechanisms will be needed and how to base them on the site, find out what living and working conditions for the team can provide the client. As a result, the specialist together with the client make the terms of reference.
After experts have studied the object and have specified the technical project with the client, the project manager puts a task to technologists and designers on working out of Technology on installation, the Project of manufacturing works (PMW), drawings on technological equipment. Then the Head of the project co-ordinates with the client PMW and if necessary Technology on the installation of an object.
At the same time with the approval of PMW (the project of manufacturing works), the project manager solves the issues with the manufacture of technological equipment, team training, and its equipment with the necessary tools and staff protective equipment. After PMW is coordinated with the client, the project manager prepares an assembly site for work, places the equipment, cabins with the tool, checks safety conditions, solves different organizational questions with finding a team in the client's territory.
When all organizational questions are solved, the team starts the installation works, the head of a site places load-lifting mechanisms according to PMW (the project of manufacturing works) and makes necessary cargo operations. In the course of joining of knots, installation of mechanisms and assemblage of metal structures can arise any discrepancies which have been admitted at designing or manufacture, and in such cases the maximum consolidation of efforts of suppliers, assemblers and the client for their settlement is necessary. On completion of the installation work, adjustments are made, the mechanisms are checked at idle and acceptance tests are carried out.
In 90% of cases, equipment suppliers will allow for any discrepancies that need to be corrected locally. All the design and production defects that will require quick and professional decisions will come up in the installation. Load-lifting mechanisms for installation works can occupy 30-50% of the cost of the entire installation, so it is more profitable to negotiate with the installation organization, which has its own fleet of truck cranes. The combined experience of the installation company plays the most important role for quality and timely installation, and the more it is, the easier and faster it is to solve all the inconsistencies that have arisen in the early stages of the cycle of delivery of equipment.
